The City acquired real estate from the Minnesota Department of Natura] Resources via a Quit Claim Deed dated Apri12, 1999. I am enclosing a copy of that deed for yow reference. T'he City subsequently entered into a Lease Purchase Agreement (the "Agreement") with the local Chamher of Commerce for a Chamber of Commerce Building constructed and located on the property previously acquired by the City. I am enclosing a copy of that Agreement for your reference. The Chamber of Commerce has fulfilled all of its payment obligations under the Agreement with the City. As a result the Chamber of Commerce now has an option to purchase the property. The Chamber of Commerce would like to exercise that option and prior to the City closing on that transaction the City would like the State of Minnesota to provide the City with a letter indicating that the City is authorized to convey its interest in the real estate to the Brainerd Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce pursuant to the Agreement. The reason I am requesting a response from the DNR is because the City initially acquired the property from the DNR and the April 2, 1999 Quite Claim Deed does include some restrictions.
