� ORDINANCE NO. 11- , SECOND SERIES AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO LICENSING AND REGULATING THE KEEPING OF DOGS CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES COUNTY OF CROW WING STATE OF MINNESOTA � � The City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes does ordain as follows: Purpose and Intent: The purpose of this ordinance amendment is to amend Chapter 9 of the Pequot Lakes City code relating to the licensing and keeping of dogs. Amendment: Chapter 9, Article 2 shall be amended as follows: Section 9-2.1. DEFINITIONS 1. Owner. Any person, firm, corporation, organization, or department owning, keeping, harboring or acting as custodian of a dog or dogs. 2. At Lar�e. The dog is off the property of the person, firm, corporation, organization, or department owning, keeping, or harboring said animal, and the dog is not under restraint. 3. Do�. All dogs over six (6) months of age. 4 Under Restraint. The dog is on the premises of the person, firm, corporation, organization, or department owning, keeping, or harboring the animal, if it is at heel beside a person having custody of it, if it is obedient to that person's command, if it is within a private motor vehicle of a person, owning, keeping or harboring the animal, or if it is controlled by a leash not exceeding six (6) feet in length. 5. License Period —(2-years). The period from January 1 of every even- numbered year through December 31 of every odd-numbered year. 6. Animal Control Officer. That person appointed by the City Council to enforce this Chapter, and shall include any person serving as "Deputy Animal Control Ofiicer". 7. Do� House.
