PEQUOT LAKES <br /> PARK COMMISSION <br /> _ THURSDAY, JULY 9, 2009 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Chair Tweed, Commission Members Den Hartog, and <br /> Clement <br /> Members Absent: Commission Members Jurchen and Johnson <br /> Also Present: Council Member Malecha; Mike Loven, Public Works <br /> Supervisor; and Sandy Peine, City Clerk <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair Tweed <br /> 2. Approve Park Commission Minutes <br /> MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER DENHARTOG TO <br /> APPROVE THE JUNE 11, 2009, PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. <br /> COMMISSIONER CLEMENT SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> — CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 3. Summer Bands <br /> Council Member Malecha updated the Commission on the Summer Band <br /> program. She stated that at the last concert the gazebo was used for the <br /> band shelter because of the rain. Discussion was held about remodeling <br /> the gazebo to use as a band shelter. Mike Loven noted that there would <br /> have to be more power brought to the sight. The Park Commission <br /> reviewed a quote for materials of which included adding a deck to the <br /> gazebo. The cost was $2,400. Council Member Malecha informed the <br /> members that the Lion's are trying to add some type of amplifying system <br /> in the park. The Lion's have proposed a three-way split on the system by <br /> the Chamber, Lions, and the City. No costs have been determined at this <br /> time. <br /> 4. Park Brochure <br /> The Park Brochure is complete. The Park Commission suggested placing <br /> the brochure at local restaurants, resorts, and the chamber building and at <br /> Bean Hole Days. <br />
