Park Board Minutes February 8, 2009 Page 2 6. Goals for 2009 The Commissioners discussed the bands in the park program. It was decided that when the bands have responded regarding costs and timing, the Park Commissioners could then begin scheduling the bands. Discussion was held regarding the possibility of an outdoors skating rink in the City. It was decided that land and personnel would be difficult to acquire for this purpose. The Clerk noted that Chuck Marohn will be on the February agenda to talk to the Park Commission about park planning. The Commission discussed Gildner Park. They directed Mike Loven to continue to work on providing a picnic table and benches, and wood chips leading to the benches and picnic table. The Commissioners decided to discuss this at the February meeting at which time Mike Loven would have the costs for the picnic table and benches. It was also decided to place an article in the Echo in the spring to inform residents of the parks in the City. The Commissioners indicated they would like to discuss Park Signs in _ February. Fay Tweed stated she would design the signs. The Commissioners noted that there is a leak in the picnic shelter at Trailside Park. Jamie Den Hartog suggested developing a park brochure that would have a map of all City parks. He indicated that this would be a way to inform people of the City parks. Jamie indicated he would begin working on the map. 7. Other Business There was no other business.
