Park Board Minutes <br /> May 11, 2006 <br /> Page 2 <br /> 6. PARK IMPROVEMENTS UPDATE <br /> 6.1 . Discussion was held regarding the watering system at the Trailside <br /> Park. Chair Anderson stated the cost to have the water line dug in <br /> will be $1 ,840 and will be done on Monday, May 15th by Tom's <br /> Backhoe. <br /> Commissioner Tweed announced that the Women's club will be <br /> putting flowers in pots and will have them in by Memorial Day. <br /> 6.2 Commissioner Tweed stated the benches are set in the park <br /> However, not in all the areas previously discussed because it was <br /> too difficult getting them all the way to the bottom of the hill. <br /> Commissioner Tweed stated there where only 4 benches instead of <br /> 5. She would like to see one or even two more put in the park. <br /> Mike Loven stated there are more we can get. <br /> Mike Loven stated he will coordinate getting timbers cut to install <br /> steps at the bottom of the stairway and matching handrail all the <br /> way to the bottom of the stairway. <br /> Mike Loven asked Brian Koslofsky if the school shop class could <br /> build the handrails. Brian stated they could do this. <br /> Chair Anderson stated the Fish Shop (building) will be sold and we <br /> should be thinking of ideas of what to do with the area. <br /> Discussion was held regarding the location of the Purple Heart <br /> Memorial. There are concerns that it could be in the way of digging <br /> in the water lines. Mayor Malecha suggested Chair Anderson <br /> contact Larry Mortenson and discuss the size and location before it <br /> 00is set. <br /> Mayor Malecha contacted everyone who has gardens in the park <br /> and asked if they will be getting them maintained before Memorial <br /> Day. <br /> 6.3 Mayor Malecha stated the DNR is not interested in selling the Fire <br /> Tower property. <br />
