Park Board Minutes
April 14, 2005
Page 2
was also held regarding the gazebo. Del and Ron decided that they would
try to repair the gazebo. Del suggested placing a few picnic tables and a
grill by the gazebo to promote more use of the park. Del also suggested
putting electricity in the ground at the same time the path is completed.
The Park Board discussed the community sign in the park and suggested
planting shrubs once the keystone is redone. It was felt that shrubs would
take less maintenance than flowers. The Park Board suggested that the
City allocate some funding for park improvements. It was suggested that
approximately $1,500 be allocated to begin planting the shrubs under the
sign and to work on the gazebo and possibly have a design drawn for the
park.
The Park Board decided to move ahead with the following projects:
• Stake out the park to see exactly how much land is available outside of
the MnDOT right-of-way.
• Look at what repairs are necessary for the gazebo and make repairs if
possible
• Draw a more precise design of the park plan
• Request funds from the Council for park improvements
• Present the park plan to the Council for approval
• Talk to Chamber about Bean Hole Days and Sign
• Have the keystone replaced under the sign and then plant shrubs under
the sign — this to be done by May 2
• Remove gardens 2,3, and 9
7. Other Business
There was no other business.
8. Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting of the Park Board was
adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
l !
'Sandra A.
