MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES PARK BOARD THURSDAY, MAY 12, 2005 PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL Members Present: Del Anderson, Ron Schaeffer, Trudy Jurchen, and Faye Tweed Staff Present: Mike Loven, Street Superintendent; Mayor Malecha; and Sandy Peine, City Clerk Also Present: Lowell Jaeger - DNR 1. Call Meeting to Order Del Anderson called the meeting together at 4:00 p.m. 2. 4/14/2005 Park Board Minutes The Park Board Minutes were approved. 3. Proposed Park Plan The Park Board reviewed the proposed park plan with Lowell Jaeger. Chair Del Anderson suggested that the City would like to be given permission to make the proposed improvements in the park area. Another possibility suggested by the Park Board members was to have the City purchase the park property from the DNR for a nominal fee. Lowell Jaeger indicated that the proposed park improvements fit with the DNR's requirements of land use. Lowell indicated that he would work toward getting permission for the City to proceed with the proposed improvements to the park. The Park Board discussed the proposed updates to the Park. It was decided to move forward with painting and fixing the gazebo. The Park Board decided to wait until a decision has been made by the DNR regarding the use of the property prior to getting quotes on the trail. Discussion was also held regarding moving the bean pot. It was suggested that this be done as soon as possible. Ron Schaefer suggested that the Board come up with a list of amenities that people would like to see in the park. It was suggested that the Board do this at the next meeting. The Park Board decided that the next meeting will be held in the park.
