MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD <br /> THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2005 <br /> TRAILSIDE PARK <br /> Members Present: Del Anderson, Ron Schaefer, Trudy Jurchen, Faye <br /> Tweed, and Melissa Samuelson <br /> Staff Present: Mayor Malecha; and Sandy Peine, City Clerk <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Del Anderson called the meeting together at 4:00 p.m. <br /> 6. War Memorial <br /> Jack Schmidt and Ken Meyer, members of the American Legion were <br /> present to discuss the war memorial. Jack Schmidt informed the Park <br /> Board that the base of the war memorial would be higher than discussed <br /> at the last park Board meeting. The Park Board stated that at the last <br /> meeting a motion was made that the base of the war memorial was not <br /> higher than 7" above ground elevation. <br /> Following a discussion with Jack Schmidt and Ken Meyer, the Park Board <br /> decided to compromise by allowing the base to be a maximum of 14 <br /> inches high. <br /> COMMISSIONER TWEED MOVED THAT THE BASE OF THE WAR <br /> MEMORIAL BE A MAXIMUM OF 14 INCHES (INCLUDING THE <br /> CONCRETE). COMMISSIONER JURCHEN SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 2. Park Board Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER JURCHEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 8/11/2005 <br /> PARK BOARD MINUTES. COMMISSIONER SAMUELSON SECONDED <br /> THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 3. Park Improvements <br /> The Commission noted that the path and lighting have been completed. <br /> 4. Picnic Shelter <br /> Chair Anderson indicated that he would be requesting money from the <br /> Council to build the picnic shelter. <br />
