MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD <br /> -- THURSDAY, APRIL 14, 2005 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Del Anderson, Ron Schaeffer, Trudy Jurchen, and Faye <br /> Tweed <br /> Staff Present: Mike Loven, Street Superintendent; Mayor Malecha; and <br /> Sandy Peine, City Clerk <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Del Anderson called the meeting together at 4:00 p.m. <br /> 2. Agenda <br /> Del reviewed and approved the agenda. <br /> 3. 1/27/05 and 2/10/05 Park Board Minutes <br /> The Park Board Minutes were approved. <br /> 4. Park Board Members <br /> The Park Board members decided not to make a recommendation on a <br /> new park board member at this time. <br /> 5. Update on Downtown committee and Highway 371 Committee <br /> Mayor Malecha updated the board members on recent Highway 371 <br /> issues concerning the City's park. She indicated that no final decisions <br /> have been made regarding the UBC property or the possible underpass. <br /> 6. Flower Gardens <br /> Discussion was held about the existing gardens in the park. The Mayor <br /> suggested that the Park Board concentrate on getting the park in good <br /> shape for this year. She indicated that she has contacted people who are <br /> willing to work on the gardens in the park. Mike Loven suggested that <br /> gardens 2, 3, and 9 be removed this year because they would be affected <br /> by the Highway. <br /> Del presented a plan for the park. The plan included a blacktop walkway in <br /> the park north of County Road 11. Discussion was held regarding the <br /> bean hole days and whether the Chamber could move the bean pit to the <br /> other side of the park on property by the Chamber building. Discussion <br />
