PEQUOT LAKES <br /> PARK COMMISSION MEETING <br /> THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2010 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Chair Tweed, Commissioners, Johnson, Clement, Jurchen, <br /> & Den Hartog <br /> Also Present: Mayor Adams; Council Member Malecha; Public Works <br /> Supervisor, Mike Loven; Jeanyne Alderson, Office Assistant <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair Tweed <br /> 2. Approve Park Commission Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER JOHNSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE AUGUST 12, <br /> 2010, PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER JURCHEN <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 3. Playground In Trailside Park <br /> _ The Mayor presented pictures of a splash park in another city as an idea <br /> for the park in Trailside Park. Public pool was the main thing public <br /> requested on the EDC survey. <br /> Mayor mentioned we found out that developers funds can be used for <br /> existing parks as well as new parks. However, we will still need to do more <br /> fund raising. Mayor Adams asked the Board if they were interested in <br /> selling chokecherry tree's again this year. The Board decided it would be <br /> better to do it every other year. <br /> Mike Loven stated with a water park we needed to keep in mind cost of <br /> maintenance, water treatment and insurance. <br /> Chair Tweed stated we would need the parking in front of UBC if we had <br /> the park. <br /> 4. Vendors In The Park <br /> Because of the irrigation system, no vendor stands, equipment or vehicles <br /> will be allowed on the north side of Trailside Park between the Paul <br /> Bunyan Trail and the walking trail. Any exceptions must be approved by <br /> the City Clerks office. <br /> COMMISSIONER JOHNSON MADE A MOTION TO NOT ALLOW <br /> VENDOR STANDS, EQUIPMENT OR VEHICLES IN THE NORTH SIDE <br /> OF TRAILSIDE PARK BETWEEN THE PAUL BUNYAN TRAIL AND <br />
