Park Commission Minutes <br /> June 10, 2010 <br /> Page 2 <br /> 4. 2011 Park Budget <br /> The Clerk discussed the future 2011 park budget. The Commission talked <br /> about future projects. One project that was discussed was irrigation of the <br /> Cole Memorial land. The Commission suggested that Mike Loven get <br /> quotes and include this project in the 2011 budget. <br /> The Commission discussed the playground that is being planned for <br /> Trailside Park. It was not clear if this would be paid for by donations or by <br /> City Funds. It was suggested that this be discussed at the next Park <br /> Commission meeting. <br /> It was the consensus of the Park Commission to increase the Bands in the <br /> Park Funds in 2011 to $6,000. <br /> 5. Updates: <br /> A. Band Shelter <br /> Fund raising is almost complete. The band shelter will be built this <br /> year. <br /> B. Paul Bunyan Chair <br /> Pete Clement said that the Paul Bunyan Chair and benches would <br /> be refinished next Tuesday. Discussion was held about plantings at <br /> the Cole Memorial Building. Faye said she would pick out the <br /> bushes and Mike Loven said his crew would plant them. <br /> Faye informed the Park Commission that Chris Tweed would not be <br /> charging for the signs for the Cole Memorial Building. The Park <br /> Commission suggested sending him a thank you for all he has <br /> done with the park signage. <br /> C. Chokecherry Trees <br /> The project has been completed. The City crew has planted <br /> approximately 90 trees around the downtown area. <br /> 6. Other Business <br /> Discussion was held regarding the lack of use of the picnic shelter. The <br /> Commission stated that they would like to find a way to entice people to <br /> use it more. Signage was suggested. It was also suggested that if the <br /> lumber company had a different place to park, the City could blacktop the <br /> lot and use it for parking for the picnic shelter. <br />
