PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION <br /> THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2011 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Commissioners Jeff Bruch, Dena Doughty, and Chair Pete <br /> Clement <br /> Members Absent: Commissioners Faye Tweed and Karen Ettesvold <br /> Also Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Mike Loven, Public Works <br /> Supervisor; Council Member Cathy Malecha; and Mayor <br /> Adams <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair Clement. <br /> 2. 10/13/11 Park Commission Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE 10/13/2011 <br /> PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. CHAIR CLEMENT SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 3. Master Park Plan Discussion <br /> Chuck Marohn, City Planning Consultant, gave a presentation on the park <br /> plan that the Planning Commission is currently working on. He explained <br /> that the park plan is part of the City's Downtown plan. Mr. Marohn focused <br /> mainly on the Trailside Park. Following the presentation, the Park <br /> Commission indicated it would review the items that were discussed at its <br /> next Park Commission meeting in January. Chuck Marohn stated that he <br /> would like feedback from the Commission. He further stated that he would <br /> like the Park Commission to relay the ideas they feel would enhance the <br /> park and the things that the Commission does not agree with. Mr. Marohn <br /> noted that the proposed park plan will be before the Planning Commission <br /> and eventually go before the Council. He noted that the Planning <br /> Commission would like the Park Commission to offer input and to support <br /> the Planning Commission's philosophy about parks. <br /> The Park Commission reviewed the drawings of the band shell provided <br /> by Karen Ettesvold that incorporated concepts that were previously <br /> discussed by the Planning Commission. <br /> 4. Memorial for Del Anderson <br /> The Clerk noted that Del Anderson's daughter has donated $500 for a <br /> — memorial in the Trailside Park in honor of Del. The Commission noted that <br /> it would plant a tree in the spring in Del's honor. <br />
