PEQUOT LAKES <br /> PARK COMMISSION <br /> — THURSDAY, JUNE 9, 2011 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Commissioners Faye Tweed, and Jeff Bruch, and Chair Pete <br /> Clement <br /> Members Absent: Jamie DenHartog and Karen Ettesvold <br /> Also Present: Council Member Malecha; Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Mike <br /> Loven, Public Works Supervisor; and Mayor Adams <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair Clement. <br /> 2. 4/14/2011 Park Commission Minutes <br /> Commissioner Bruch noted an error in the minutes under Item #5. The <br /> Clerk stated she would correct the minutes as requested. <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE 5/12/2011 <br /> MINUTES AS AMENDED. COMMISSIONER TWEED SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 5. Other Business <br /> Mike Loven indicated that someone has asked if they could plant a <br /> memorial tree in Trailside Park. Following discussion the Park <br /> Commission indicated that the request would be approved; however the <br /> Park Commission reserves the right to name the species and the location <br /> and that the City would plant the tree. It was suggested that a sugar maple <br /> be planted to replace the dead tree that is in the park by the band shelter. <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE REQUEST TO <br /> PLANT A MEMORIAL TREE WITH THE STIPULATIONS STATED BY <br /> THE PARK COMMISSION. COMMISSIONER TWEED SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> The Commission members discussed the banner sign for the bands in the <br /> park. Cathy Malecha suggested placing flags on the poles when the <br /> banner is not up. <br />
