Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair Tweed <br /> 2. Approve Park Commission Minutes <br /> MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER CLEMENT TO APPROVE <br /> THE JANUARY 13, 2011, PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. <br /> COMMISSIONER DENHARTOG SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 3-0. <br /> Scott Pederson gave an update on the park and recreation section of the <br /> _ Comprehensive Plan. He requested the Commissioners to go to the web <br /> site and give their input on the Comp Plan. <br /> David Kennedy asked how the "Sense of Place" concept fits in with the <br /> Comp Plan. Discussion was held about how the "sense of place" concept <br /> will affect the Government Drive Project. <br /> Splash Park <br /> Nancy Adams provided a map of the Trailside Park which included <br /> overlays of maps that showed which areas of the park is used for certain <br /> events. She noted that the overlays have revealed that the park is <br /> completely used and there is no room for a splash park. <br /> Skate Park <br /> Mayor Adams and Commissioner Clement reported that they had met with <br /> high school kids who are interested in a skateboard park. The Mayor <br /> reported that the Crosby Skateboard Park was funded by parents and kids <br /> who raised the money. Mayor Adams stated that the students questioned <br /> where a skateboard park could be located in Pequot Lakes. Some ideas <br /> that were discussed for a location of a skate park included Sibley Park, the <br /> triangular section of property located south of American National Bank, the <br /> corner of City property toward the rear of the parking lot, and the land <br /> under the new water tower. It was also suggested to sell Sibley Park and <br /> use the money to buy land for a skate park, Commissioner Clement stated <br />
