This <br />issue was discussed with the fire department members and the fire board; both have decided <br />that it is not in the best interest of our department or Byron Township to accept this contract. <br />The distance from our station to Byron Township is too far, considering their current contract is <br />with Motley Fire and they are significantly closer. <br />Action Required: The City of Pequot Lakes should send a letter to Byron Township declining <br />contract for fire covera.ge. <br />2. The Pequot Lakes Fire Department has voted to pay its assistant chiefs an amount of $900 per <br />calendar year (plus calls & mee�ings). The FD has 2 assistant chiefs, the total amount = <br />$1,800.00. This amount is allotted for in our budget (payroll). <br />Action Required: Accept payment of assistant chiefs at a ra.te of $900.00 per year (plus <br />ca11s/meetings) <br />Any questions let me l�ow. <br />� <br />
