PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION <br /> THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2013 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Chair Malecha, Commissioners Bruch, and Ettesvold. <br /> Members Absent: Commissioner Nagel and Gibbons <br /> Also Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; and Mike Loven, Public Works <br /> Supervisor; Council Member Tyler; Mayor Adams <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Chair Malecha called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> MOTION BY COMMISSIONER BRUCH AND SECONDED BY <br /> COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 3. Park Commission Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE 9/12/2013 PARK <br /> COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD SECONDED <br /> THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 4. Splash Park <br /> Chair Malecha informed the Commission that the Council authorized the <br /> Park Commission to move forward with funding for the splash park. Chair <br /> Malecha is searching for grants and donations for the project. She noted <br /> that the project will not happen if the money is not raised. <br /> 5. Sibley Lake Park — Dog Park Update <br /> Dave Lind from Sibley Lake Association was present. He addressed the <br /> Park Commission with concerns of the Sibley Lake Park. He noted that <br /> the Sibley Lake Association has formed a Lake Improvement District. <br /> They have some funds available and are contemplating whether they <br /> should use the funds for Sibley Lake Park. The Sibley Lake Park <br /> Association has replaced the bottom of the steps at the park but the rest of <br /> the steps are in major need of repair. They would like to help update the <br /> park but want to ensure that the steps will be replaced. He explained that <br /> the Association wants to be informed of what the City's intent is regarding <br /> upgrading the park. <br /> Chair Malecha explained that the commission is currently working with a <br /> group of volunteers to build a dog park at Sibley Lake Park.
