PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION <br /> THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2013 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Chair Malecha, and Commissioners Ettesvold, Nagel, and <br /> Gibbons <br /> Members Absent: Commissioner Bruch <br /> Also Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk and Mike Loven, Public Works <br /> Supervisor <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Chair Malecha called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> The agenda was approved. <br /> 3. Park Commission Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER NAGLE MOVED TO APPROVE THE 5/7/2013 AND <br /> 5/9/2013 PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER GIBBONS <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 4. Sibley Lake Park <br /> • Light Posts - Mike Loven stated that the Park Commission <br /> requested him to get an estimate on what it would cost to move the <br /> light poles closer to the park (further from the road), to bury the <br /> electric cables and to widen the street. He stated that the cost to <br /> covert the overhead wiring to underground and move the poles is <br /> $25,000. The cost to move the street to create more parking along <br /> Sibley Lake Park is $35,000. It was the consensus of the <br /> Commission members to take no action at this time due to the cost. <br /> • Dog Park — Commissioner Gibbons stated that he contacted <br /> Sheridan Wilson regarding the idea of creating a dog park at Sibley <br /> Lake Park. Ms. Wilson was positive about the idea and offered to <br /> assist. The Park Commission stated that the next step is to draw up <br /> a plan to include the size, location, signage requirements and <br /> fencing. Commissioner Nagel requested staff to check with Mark <br /> Jurchen regarding liability issues. The Commissioners requested <br /> Ms. Wilson to come to the next Park Commission meeting. <br /> • Bottom Step Replacement — Clerk Peine stated that the Sibley <br /> Lake Association will be replacing the bottom step. Mike Loven <br /> stated that the cost to replace all of the steps is close to $100,000. <br />
