PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION <br /> THURSDAY, AUGUST 14, 2014 <br /> TRAILSIDE PARK <br /> Members Present: Chair Malecha, Commissioners Ettesvold, Gibbons, Nagel, Bruch, <br /> and Ronning <br /> Members Absent: None <br /> Also Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Mike Loven, Public Works Supervisor; <br /> Nancy Adams, Mayor; and Dawn Bittner, Planning and Zoning <br /> Administrator <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Chair Malecha called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> The City Clerk requested to add item 9.1 — "Bright Red Bookshelf Project," to the <br /> agenda. <br /> COMMISSIONER NAGEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS <br /> AMENDED. COMMISSIONER GIBBONS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 3. 7/10/2014 and 7/17/2014 Park Commission Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER GIBBONS MOVED TO APPROVE THE 7/10/2014 AND <br /> 7/17/2014 PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER RONNING <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 4. Budget Discussion <br /> Mike Loven informed the Park Commission that there has been budget cuts to <br /> the 2015 preliminary budgets. He stated that the restroom for Trailside Park is <br /> still in the budget. <br /> 5. Playground Equipment/Splash Park <br /> Mayor Adams stated that a family has offered $75,000 for a playground to be <br /> located at Trailside Park and the City Council made a motion assigning $5,000 <br /> toward a playground. The donors would like the playground to be visible from the <br /> highway. Mayor Adams stated that she is having the playground equipment <br /> design completed and will present it to the Park Commission in September and <br /> would like it to be presented to the Council in October. She stated that the <br /> playground equipment can be built yet this fall. It was the consensus of the Park <br /> Commission to move forward with the designing of the playground equipment. <br />
