PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION <br /> THURSDAY, MAY 8, 2014 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Chair Malecha, Commissioners Ettesvold (4:07), Nagel, and Bruch <br /> Members Absent: Commissioner Gibbons <br /> Also Present: Dawn Bittner, Zoning Administrator; Mike Loven, Public Works <br /> Supervisor; and Council Member Gardner <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Chair Malecha called the meeting to order at 4:03 pm. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS <br /> SUBMITTED. COMMISSIONER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 3. 4/10/2014 Park Commission Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE 4/10/2014 PARK <br /> COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER NAGEL SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 4. Sibley Lake Park (Dog Park) Update <br /> Mike Loven stated he placed stakes along the bluff indicating the setback and <br /> that he contacted Wes Wilson. Mr. Wilson stated he didn't think 15 feet from the <br /> bluff would matter. Sheridan Wilson did not respond whether or not the size was <br /> adequate for the dog park. Mr. Loven will contact her again. <br /> Mike Loven also stated the need to budget to move the swing set and move the <br /> outhouse. <br /> 5. Mayo Lake Park Preserve — Harvest of Trees <br /> Mike Loven explained the Mayor is looking for funding options to improve the <br /> City's parks and the Forest Management Plan for the Mayo Lake Park indicates <br /> that tree removal was is option. Mike Loven explained that there is not a lot of <br /> timber to remove and harvesting of trees may not have been the intent when the <br /> land was donated. <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO NOT HARVEST TREES AT MAYO <br /> LAKE PARK. COMMISSIONER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 3-0. <br />
