L <br />Pequot Lakes Community Library <br />Minutes of Board of Directors Meeting <br />Tuesday, January 18, 2011 <br />Acting president Claire Nagel called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. <br />Present were board members Claire Nagel, David Anderson, Shirley Johnson and Jean <br />Clark. <br />Absent were board members John Longnecker, Sam Hennies and Lydia Loven. <br />Jerry Akerson is our new City Council liaison. He was unable to attend this meeting. <br />New members Jean Clark and Shirley Johnson were welcomed onto the bo'ard of <br />directors. <br />Minutes from last meeting were approved by David Anderson, seconded by Claire Nagel. <br />David Anderson's fireasurer's report was presented. <br />� Since Nancy Malecha. was not finished with the year-end report, the figures shown on the <br />report may not be totally accurate. When David receives the fuushed report from Ms. <br />Malecha, he will talk with Nancy Adams about the possibility of getting a bid from Ron <br />Nelson to put ends on the shelving units which at this time do not have ends. <br />Discussion of repayment of the interest-free loan will be ta.bled until the April meeting. <br />Fund Raising <br />It was reported that Nancy Adams may have found someone to pay $10,000 on this <br />year's mortgage. � <br />It was reported that Nancy Adams wrote a grant to Crow Wing Co-op to pay for new <br />computer towers and flat-screened monitors. <br />New Business <br />Claire Nagel and Jean Clark, in their volunteer positions as librarians, have both been <br />made aware of computer users on pomographic sites. We discussed the possibility of <br />blocking these sites on all computers. Claire will talk to Donna and Nancy about this. <br />Jean Clark will call area public libraries to see if they have blocks on their computers. <br />Also, it's been noticed that occasionally a patron will not sign in when he or she comes in <br />to use the computers. Shirley Johnson suggested putting up a sign at all computer stations <br />to remind people to do this. <br />At 7:20, David Anderson made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Claire Nagel. <br />� <br />
