Park Board Minutes <br /> April 9, 2015 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Mike Loven explained that the Council had changed the design of the restroom <br /> that was recommended by the Park Commission. The Commission was <br /> concerned about the possibility of the price increasing with the new design. <br /> Commissioner Ronning stated that he was OK with design as it had an up-north <br /> look. He stated that he wanted to be ensured that it would not be more expensive <br /> than the one Park Commission recommended and that there would be two <br /> fixtures per side. <br /> 7. Smore Park Bench <br /> Commissioner Ronning stated that Cathy Malecha would be in favor of accepting <br /> the Smore Park Benches and that they be located at the new playground. She <br /> felt that the benches fit in that location and that they would create a good photo <br /> opportunity for children. Commissioner Ronning indicated that Nancy Adams was <br /> not in favor of locating the benches in the Park. Karen Ettesvold stated that it <br /> may not be a good idea because of the advertising on the benches. She stated <br /> that if there is advertising on the benches it should be from local businesses. <br /> Commissioner Ronning stated that he would be in favor of the benches <br /> especially since there is no cost to the City. <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO ACCEPT THE SMORE BENCHES TO <br /> BE PLACED AT A LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED AT A LATER DATE BY <br /> THE COMMISSION. COMMISSIONER RONNING SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION FAILED 2-2. COMMISSIONERS BRUCH AND RONNING VOTED IN <br /> FAVOR OF THE MOTION. COMMISSIONERS ETTESVOLD AND NORDBY <br /> OPPOSED. <br /> 8. Flowers <br /> A. Bobber Park <br /> Commissioners Ettesvold and Nordby volunteered to plant the flowers at <br /> Bobber Park. <br /> B. Businesses <br /> Discussion took place regarding the flowers to be planted in the barrels <br /> and located in the downtown area. Mike Loven stated that there are funds <br /> budgeted in the 2015 budget for this project. <br /> COMMISSIONER NORDBY MOVED TO FOLLOW THE SAME <br /> PROGRAM AS LAST YEAR FOR PLANTING THE FLOWERS. <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 4-0. <br />
