FROM : CITY_OF_PEQUOT_LAKES FAX NO. : 2185687229 Mar. 03 2004 02:33PM P4
bet the whose bag of marbels on your opinions. As I explained to you on the phone, I
am likely sitting in the best situation in town. I have a great location in a town that
almost has a year'round economy, albeit next to a restaurant that your staff allowed to
be built with too many seats for the parking that is available. If this bypass comes, my
lease is structured as such that I can simply pack up and move on to another location
before you know what hits the fan. If I choose to stay and see if you are right, I can do
so without any liability to myself of having a building that may no longer have any real
value. If it doesn't work out so well, I will be one of the cheap ones in line at City Hall
for some of those grants to relocate. It should only take $80-90,000 in today's dollars.
I have been and will remain very vocal on this subject as long as the debate
remains. When the day comes that one side wins and the other loses, regardless of
the decision, I will do everything in my power to ensure we make the best of the
situation and the town has every chance to prosper. I will not waste my time running
around saying "I told you so" if our side did not get our way.
However, I'm just a person with an opinion. I am within my rights to state my
opinion in any manner I wish. You have a right to your opnion and likewise are free to
exercise your free speech. My issue with you is that your bias has been allowed to
steer the planning of our community down a one-way street. You have come to the
position that the wishes of the elected leadership do not conform with your agenda.
You have chosen to attempt to change the decision of the people to meet the sum
conclusion of a few individuals. You have not planned your end project to allow any
options other than the bypass route that you support. You have continued to engage in
work on behalf of the City of Pequot Lakes with an ever present conflict of interest. It is
for this reason that I will publicly.call for your termination. It is for this reason that I will
write to the leaders of the City to request your termination. It is the reason that I
request your resignation.
You stated on the phone that you wished for this not to turn into a personal or
slanderous issue. It is not. I know absolutely nothing about you as a person so it is
impossible for this to be personal. It is apparent to me however, that you will not seek
to find a workable solution for any option other than your own.
I hope this clarifies my position. You can throw this away or respond telling me
where to shove it. It's a free world and thank God for that
Respectful) ubmitt
Thomas . Jo son
