<br /> Background Information: The property lies at the intersection of Ackerson Road and
<br /> Evenson Road in the northeast section of the City of Pequot Lakes. It is a 40-acre parcel
<br /> currently zoned"Forestry". As shown in the diagram below,which is taken from satellite
<br /> imagery,the property is mostly¢ forested.

<br /> Residential".
<br /> Applicable Statutes: A 4/5ths majority of the Council is required to rezone a property,
<br /> which means that any rezoning must have broad consensus. With seven Council
<br /> members, all but one must support the change or it will not be approved.
<br /> As with all rezoning applications we have considered,there are two questions that must
<br /> be answered. First, is the property zoned incorrectly? Second, if the property is zoned
<br /> incorrectly, what would be the correct zoning classification for this parcel? The primary
