APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE <br /> 1. Complete all items down to "FOR CITY USE". Specifically state the hardship which <br /> is to be alleviated by the variance if granted. <br /> 2. A plot plan must accompany each application. (See attached example). <br /> 3. Measure all distances in feet. All measurements must be shown. Use ink or ball point pen <br /> only. The sketch must show all existing and proposed buildings, giving all dimensions, well, <br /> septic system, driveways, roads and highways and information such as distances to road <br /> right-of-way and if topography is unusual, show elevation levels, state"proposed new"or <br /> "existing on buildings, wells and septics. <br /> 4. A copy of the property deed including any covenants and/or restrictions must accompany <br /> each application. <br /> 5. A non-refundable fee must accompany each application. Make check payable to the"City of <br /> Pequot Lakes". <br /> 6. Accurate property descriptions must be given and these are usually found on your statement <br /> or deed. Applicant must own property, have a valid lease or be an authorized representative. <br /> Date of a deed usually establishes proof of ownership. <br /> 7. Locate and mark property lines,corner marks and stake out areas of proposed buildings, <br /> septic systems,and wells. When everything is staked out, call your Zoning Officer to view <br /> the locations. <br /> 8. When you have completed the application and all accompanying plans, either mail or deliver it <br /> in person to the City Clerk with the proper fee. The Zoning Officer make all preliminary <br /> and during work inspections and gives her recommendations for approval or disapproval of <br /> your permit. DO NOT start work until you have received a Board of Adjustment approved <br /> Variance Permit. <br /> 9. Accurate information must be given as the permit is granted upon express conditions that the <br /> person to whom it is granted, and his agent,employees and workmen shall conform in all <br /> aspects to the Pequot Lakes Zoning Ordinance. The Permit may be revoked at any time upon <br /> violation of the Ordinance. <br /> 10. A variance is not a permit. After the Variance has been granted,you become eligible to apply <br /> for a Building/Land Use Permit. It is the responsibility of the applicant to secure a Building/ <br /> Land Use Permit before any work commences. Until you have an approved Building/Land <br /> Use Permit NO WORK is to be started. <br /> 11. If granted actual construction must commence within 6 months of date of Board approval. <br /> If construction has not commenced within 6 months,you will be required to file for an <br /> extension. <br />
