Protecting our Lakes <br /> Question raised on laktornes in City limits cm City sewer. Mike Loven stated about 6 are <br /> currently on City Sewer. Joyce Noren stated that 5 or 6 years ago septics on Sibley Lake were <br /> brought into compliance. City needs to extend along lake-but not it the near future. Loon Lake <br /> Township should be brought into this discussion as they have a small parcel of land which touches <br /> Sibley Lake. <br /> Old Dump Site <br /> General consensus was to have this area cleaned up. Possibly Sentence-To-Se>rve Program would <br /> ivark. 132 f of site fall into the City location the rest is Charles Rathcke property. Suggestion <br /> was to have Sibley Lake Association test to see if leaking into Sibley Lake. Tom Woog <br /> volunteered to see what the MPCA has to say. <br /> 3_ Fire Department <br /> Sibley currently contracts with the City of Pequot Lakes under the fair share program. Police <br /> contract with Sibley has already been suggested by Mark Forsberg. However the 2002 levy has <br /> already been set and the budget. Therefore this item would have to be put on the 2002 Annual <br /> Meeting for levy and budget for 2003. <br /> 4. Roads,especially South End including Pillsbury <br /> This was discussed at a former Sibley Township meeting with Jack Schmidt and Dennis Meisner. <br /> At that meeting Sibley Township stated they would consider a road,however,they felt it was <br /> dangerous with all the after-school activity in that area without either the road to be widened or <br /> some type of sidewalk put in for the safety of the children. If a road is to be constructed at some <br /> time the suggestion was to make it curve rather then straight to eliminate fast moving vehicles. <br /> 5. School Issue <br /> Sibley questioned as to who will be supplying the water to the new school if the'referendum <br /> passes. Breezy Point will supply sewer and the City of Pequot Lakes the water supply. <br /> 6. Babinski Property <br /> Would be good for future planning concerning roads and future expansion of school. <br /> 7. Cemetery <br /> A site for expansion of the City Cemetery was discussed. The current cemetery is not going to be <br /> adequate before long. Tax-forfeit sites or lower costs site would be advisable. <br /> 8_ Web-site <br /> Karl Moon offered his services to connect the two governments by web-site. <br /> 9. Dock Ordinance <br /> The definition of the word-slip-from the City was two watercraft moored at the dock-site. Each <br /> go:t 'nment uuuld regulate their ow r.sjock G1e ance. Railing should he a conditional LLSt.PUD <br /> and Commercial docks should be covered_ The question was raised if Dennis would be available <br /> to write up an Ordinance that would address these issues. A copy will be submitted to the City <br /> for their input. <br />
