• <br /> 3. No Off-premise sign shall be placed within road right-of-way or easement. In areas <br /> designated by an approved comprehensive plan as having future frontage roads, setbacks <br /> shall be a minimum of 50 feet from existing road right-of-way; <br /> 4. No off premise sign shall be erected or constructed within 300 feet of an intersection <br /> or two public roadways; <br /> 5. No Off-premise sign shall be placed within a delineated Type 3,4 and 5 wetland; <br /> 6. No Off-premise sign shall be located closer than 500 feet from park/playground, <br /> school building or church building or private residence. <br /> E. Height Restrictions <br /> No billboard shall be constructed so as to exceed 35 feet in height from existing road grade,not <br /> including temporary sign extensions. <br /> 9.8 Paul Bunyan Trail Sign Provisions <br /> A. Statement of Purpose <br /> The Paul Bunyan Trail is currently Minnesota's longest and most scenic recreational corridor. It <br /> serves as an important part of the tourism oriented transportation network and has many unique <br /> natural amenities along the trail. It is the purpose of this section to restrict unnecessary <br /> commercial advertising within the trail corridor and limit signage to signs approved by the <br /> Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. <br /> B. General Provisions <br /> 1. There shall be no signs placed within 150'of the centerline of the Paul Bunyan Trail in any <br /> zoning district with the exception of those facilities permitted before the effective date of this <br /> Ordinance. <br /> 2. No sign erected within 200 feet of the centerline of the Paul Bunyan Trail shall have an <br /> advertising area greater than 20 square feet. <br /> 3. All signs within the 150 feet of the centerline of the Paul Bunyan Trail shall be reviewed by the <br /> �-- Commissioner of the Minnesota Depaitiuent of Natural Resources. <br /> 9.9 Great River Road National Scenic Byway <br /> A. Route within Crow Wing County <br /> Running from south to north,the route starts on State Highway 371 at the northern <br /> city limits of Fort Ripley and runs to the southern city limits of Baxter on the C. <br /> Elmer Anderson Memorial Highway. The route starts again north of Brainerd on <br /> County Road 20,then to County Road 49,then State Highway 25,then to County <br /> Road 3,then to County Road 19,then to County Road 11,then to State Highway 6, <br /> and running to the northern city limits of Crosby. The route starts again east of the <br /> city limits of Crosby on State Highway 210&6 and runs to the northern city limits <br /> of Deerwood. The route starts again east of the city limits of Deerwood on State <br /> Highway 210 and ends at the Aitkin County line. <br /> B. No New Off-Premise Sign <br /> There shall be no placement of off-premise signage along a '/4 mile either side of the <br /> road right-of-way on the Great River Road National Scenic Byway route. <br /> 6 <br />
