DIVISION 35: AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (AG) REGULATIONS <br /> Section 35-010 Purpose and Intent. <br /> The Agricultural District is intended to allow traditional agricultural uses and conserve <br /> agricultural resources while allowing low density residential development compatible with <br /> agricultural uses. <br /> Section 35-020 Permitted Uses. <br /> The following uses are permitted with the issuance of a Land Use Permit from the Zoning <br /> Administrator in the Agricultural District. <br /> 1. Single family dwellings (occupied by the owner or operator, or manager of the <br /> farm will be considered customary and accessory to the permitted use) <br /> 2. Agri-business uses such as processing and storage of agricultural products <br /> agricultural retail outlet, custom meat or poultry processing facility, and keeping <br /> of nondomestic animals. On existing, substandard agricultural lots: <br /> a. On parcels of at least 5 acres, but less than 20 acres, 2 animal units per <br /> acre are permitted, with the number of acres rounded up to the nearest <br /> whole number. <br /> b. On parcels of 2.4-5 acres, 1 animal unit per acre is permitted, with the <br /> number of acres rounded up to the nearest whole number. <br /> c. On parcels of at least 1.5 acre, but less than 2.4 acres, 1 animal unit is <br /> permitted. <br /> d. On lots less than 1.5 acre, only dogs, cats and other animals customarily <br /> kept as pets, are permitted. <br /> e. On parcels greater than 5 acres, the animal unit density of a feedlot shall be <br /> limited only by the provision of a feedlot permit or certificate of <br /> compliance. <br /> 3. Four(4) animal units per acre on parcels 20 acres and larger(see Section 35-060) <br /> 4. Agricultural uses such as: commercial nursery; equestrian center, intensive <br /> agricultural uses, and open agricultural uses. <br /> 5. Guest House of no more than 1,000 square feet of house footprint. (Must meet <br /> single-family home standards.) <br /> 6. Kennels <br /> 7. Forestry uses (cultivating & maintaining forests and managing forest lands, <br /> including the harvesting of timber and selling of firewood produced on the <br /> parcel) <br /> 8. Composting facility <br /> 9. Cemetery <br /> 10. Church <br /> 11. Day Care in single-family home <br /> 12. Bed and Breakfasts <br /> 13. Livery or horse rental operation <br /> 14. Parks and/or playfields <br /> 15. Public Recreation Center <br /> 16. Recycling collection center <br /> Sibley Township Zoning Ordinance Article I I 44 <br />
