Pequot Lakes Police Dept.
Report to the City Council
 January 26, 2011
So far for the month of January the Department logged 322 individual ICRs.
Current Activities:
Throughout the month, the Reserves have conducted 525 individual security checks of businesses and
homes with no open doors found at area businesses.
The Reserves assisted the Jaycees at the Ice Fishing Extravaganza for the 4th year in a row. They
have also been very busy with crowd patrol during local high school basketball games, for both the girls
and boys basketball teams.
Acting Chief Petersen assisted with the High School Reality Store during the day on 1/26. Students go
through scenarios of real life experiences throughout the day with the assistance of school staff and
local businesses. Each student gets a job randomly assigned to them. They then "get a family,
appointments to juggle, bills to pay, citations or warnings issued, etc". They then have to figure out how
' to make their "pay" cover the bills, take care of the "family", go to "court", save for their kids college
education, save for retirement. Just like in the real world after high school.
Training Attended:
Officers Petersen and Nangle will attend Expungement and Data Practices training in Brainerd on the
27m
Respectfully Submitted,
Kate Petersen
Acting Chief of Police
