As there are no vertical roadway profiles
shown, depending on the roadway grades and the resulting drainage patterns, the City may
need to use some of the 20-foot easement adjacent to the R/W or require additional
temporary drainage easements at some of these roadway low points.
6. The Typical Roadway Section for North Branch Trail is acceptable.
We do recommend, however, that the City's Maintenance Superintendent, Mike Loven,
review this also as he will have to maintain it.
7. The Typical Roadway Section for Pinekrist Trail is acceptable.
As a practical matter,we could see the 2-feet wide aggregate shoulders being more of a
maintenance problem than they are worth(residents mowing next to it, snowplows
digging into it, rocks into lawns, etc.). We suggest that the bituminous pavement extend
all the way out to the 26-foot wide Class 5.
Again, we do recommend, however, that the City's Maintenance Superintendent,Mike
`-- Loven, review this also as he will have to maintain it.
If you or the City would like us to do any follow up to the above, do not hesitate to call.
WIDSETH SMITH NOLT1NG
Timothy M.
