Although the Ordinance has undergone revisions within the last year,an <br /> Ordinance requiring permits for all signs has been in effect for a number of years. <br /> We have recently noticed small,portable signs that you have placed outside your <br /> property on the sidewalk. Not only are portable signs prohibited,placing them on a <br /> public sidewalk interferes with pedestrian traffic,creating a public nuisance. <br /> As opposed to citing you formally for a violation of the Ordinances, we would like the <br /> opportunity to work with you to correct the situation. We are requesting that by no <br /> later than October 27,2003,you remove all portable signs from the public sidewalk. <br /> Failure to comply with the Ordinance by October 27,2003,will prompt us to take more <br /> aggressive action. This would likely include administrative fines for each day the <br /> violation continues, civil action to obtain a court order directing you to comply with the <br /> Ordinance and could potentially include criminal action. <br /> Having these portable signs on a public sidewalk is a health and safety issue that we take <br /> very seriously.
