STAFF REPORT
Application: Request to rezone from Medium-Density Residential to Exempt
Commercial
Applicant: Karen Ettesvold
Background Information: Ms. Ettesvold owns a lot one block west of Highway 371.
The property is currently zoned Medium-Density Residential. Ms. Ettesvold would like
to open a beauty salon at the location, which isi not allowed under the current zoning. She
has requested a rezoning to Exempt Commercial.
The following map shows the location of the property. The map also shows the draft of
the future land use designations that are being developed by the Long Range Planning
committee(map to be discussed extensively at the 12/10/03 meeting). The Ettesvold
parcel would fall within the proposed downtown-mixed use area, which calls for a mix of
high-density housing and pedestrian-oriented commercial uses.7,- $.--- rt
