PEQUOT LAKES PLANNING&ZONING COMMISSION <br /> PUBLIC HEARING,JUNE 17, 1997 <br /> The Pequot Lakes Planning&Zoning Commission public hearing was called to order by Chairman M. Jurchen on <br /> Tuesday,June 17, 1997,at 6:30 p.m.at the Pequot Lakes City Hall. <br /> Roll call: M.Jurchen;G.Welu;G.Jenson;F.Martinson;and J.Thompson all present. Absent none. <br /> 1. The purpose of the public hearing was to add the following classification to Zoning Ordinance No. 163, <br /> Section 8.20: Manufactured Home/On-site Sales&Operations Office,to be allowed by Conditional Use <br /> Permit in Multi-Family Districts. <br /> The Zoning Administrator stated that she did not receive any correspondence or phone calls either in support or <br /> opposition to this proposed amendment. <br /> Mr.Earl Hemmerich was present and had requested this zoning ordinance amendment. He stated that the reason for <br /> the change was to allow a sales office to be built at the manufactured home court to sell homes that would remain <br /> on-site. <br /> No one from the public in attendance was either in support or opposition to this change. <br /> Chairman M.Jurchen closed the public hearing and the commission members discussed the amendment. <br /> Motion by G. Welu to recommend to the city council that Zoning Ordinance No. 163, Section 8.20 be amended by <br /> adding the following classification: Manufactured Home/On-Site Sale & Operations Office, allowed in Multi- <br /> Family Districts by Conditional Use Permit. Motion seconded by J.Thompson and unanimously carried. <br /> 2. The purpose of the public hearing was also to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 163, Section 8.20: to allow <br /> Automobile&Truck Sale&Repair in Light Industrial Districts by Conditional Use Permit. <br /> The Zoning Administrator stated that she did not receive any correspondence or phone calls either in support or <br /> opposition to this proposed amendment. <br /> Bonnie Watt questioned why this classification would be allowed by Conditional Use Permit. Chairman M.Jurchen <br /> explained that this would allow more control of the use with regard to building size, outside storage of materials <br /> and landscaping, etc. The Zoning Administrator explained that this amendment had been initiated by the city <br /> council to allow this use in the Light Industrial districts by conditional use permit. <br /> Marjorie Hopson stated she was in favor of allowing this use in the Industrial Park. <br /> John Pierron stated PLADO was in favor of allowing this use in the Industrial Park, providing the aesthetics and <br /> integrity of the park are maintained. <br /> The Zoning Administrator stated that she did not receive any correspondence or phone calls either in support or <br /> opposition to this proposed amendment. <br /> Chairman M.Jurchen closed the public hearing and the commission members discussed the amendment. <br /> Motion by J.Thompson to recommend to the city council that Zoning Ordinance No. 163, Section 8.20 be amended <br /> to allow by Conditional Use Permit, Automobile & Truck Sale & Repair in Light Industrial Districts. Motion <br /> seconded by G.Welu and unanimously carried. <br /> Chairman M.Jurchen adjourned the meeting at 6:45 p.m. <br /> Terri Russell,Zoning Administrator Mark Jurchen,Chairman <br />
