PEQUOT LAKES PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br /> REGULAR MEETING,MAY 19, 1997 <br /> The regular meeting of the Pequot Lakes Planning&Zoning Commission was called to order by Chairman M. <br /> Jurchen on Monday,May 19, 1997,at 7:00 p.m. at the Pequot Lakes City Hall. <br /> Roll call: M.Jurchen; G. Welu; G.Jenson;J. Thompson; and Forbes Martinson present. Absent none. <br /> Motion by G.Welu and seconded by G.Jenson to approve the minutes from the Board of Adjustment Public <br /> Hearing on March 18, 1997, as presented. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by F.Martinson and seconded by J.Thompson to approve the minutes from the Planning&Zoning <br /> Commission regular meeting on April 16, 1997,as presented. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Earl Hemmerich was present to request permission to construct an office to sell mobile homes in the mobile <br /> home park. Chairman M.Jurchen stated that Paul Hertle and Earl Hemmerich are working on cleaning up the <br /> mobile home park and they have entered into a contract with Frontier Homes of Bemidji to bring in some nice <br /> homes to the park. The Zoning Officer signed the sales license last week for the office to be operated out of the <br /> Swim&Fitness building which is currently allowed by ordinance. The sales office currently is not allowed in <br /> the mobile home park. Mr.Hemmerich stated that they have been very selective of the new tenants moving into <br /> the industrial park, checking references, etc. They would like to build an office for the mobile home park that <br /> would also serve as an office to sell mobile homes. The Commission was concerned that it would be a mobile <br /> home sales office with the homes being brought in and sold rather than an on-site sales office where the homes <br /> are sold and they stay in the park. It was decided that this should be an allowed by conditional use permit. <br /> Motion by F.Martinson and seconded by G.Welu to hold a public hearing June 17, 1997 at 6:30 p.m.to amend <br /> Zoning Ordinance No. 163, Section 8.20 Land Use Classification List to add the following classification: <br /> Manufactured Home/On-Site Sales&Operations Office by Conditional Use Permit in the Multi-Family District <br /> as requested by Earl Hemmerich. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> David Landecker was present to request rezoning of his parcel of land from Light Industrial to Commercial. <br /> Motion by J. Thompson and seconded by G. Welu to hold a public hearing June 17, 1997 at 7:00 p.m.to amend <br /> the official zoning map and rezone the property as requested by Whitetail Properties from Light Industrial to <br /> Commercial as follows: That part of the Southwest Quarter of Southwest Quarter, Section 11,Township 136 <br /> North,Range 29 West, Crow Wing County,Minnesota,described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest <br /> corner of said Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter;thence North 87 degrees 56 minutes 31 seconds <br /> East assumed bearing along the South line of said Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter,a distance of <br /> 914.00 feet;thence North 2 degrees 03 minutes 29 seconds West 455.00 feet to the point of beginning of the <br /> tract to be herein described;thence South 2 degrees 03 minutes 29 seconds East 455.00 feet to said South line; <br /> thence South 87 degrees 56 minutes 31 seconds west along said south line 581.00 feet;thence North 1 degree <br /> 35 minutes 10 seconds West 33.00 feet;thence North 87 degrees 56 minutes 31 seconds East 111.00 feet to the <br /> east line of the west 444.00 feet of said Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter;thence North 1 degree 35 <br /> minutes 10 seconds West along said east line to the intersection with a line bearing South 87 degrees 56 minutes <br /> 31 seconds West from the point of beginning;thence North 87 degrees 56 minutes 31 seconds East to the point <br /> of beginning. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by G. Welu and seconded by J.Thompson to hold a public hearing on June 17, 1997 at 6:30 p.m.to <br /> amend Zoning Ordinance No. 163, Section 8.20 Land Use Classification List to allow by Conditional Use <br /> Permit,Automobile&Truck Sales&Repair in the Light Industrial District as requested by the City Council. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Commission scheduled a workshop with the City Council for June 3, 1997 following the council's regular <br /> meeting,after the clerk gets approval from the Mayor. <br /> 1 <br />
