Martinson called for a Public Hearing for Tuesday, October 19, 1999 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> JAMES CASPER— 1998 BUILDING PERMIT <br /> Mr. Casper was issued a building permit on 5/14/98. This permit was approved and paid for. <br /> The work was postponed until further notice. Mr. Casper will begin work the week of 10/4/99 <br /> and the permit will be renewed. <br /> T. Saccoman voiced concern regarding payment, if Mr. Casper discussed this issue when the <br /> work stopped and the charge for the permit. <br /> J. Thompson stated that this permit was issued when the City had a building inspector and how <br /> the cost would be considerably less now. <br /> T. Saccoman was concerned about not having a building inspector and no state building code. <br /> She asked who would be responsible for inspecting construction. <br /> There was discussion regarding Jeff Melberg, his job performance and if a new building <br /> inspector will be hired. J. Thompson suggested there be spot checks instead of inspecting every <br /> building. There was also concern regarding sewer inspections and J. Thompson stated payment <br /> should not be made until the inspection is complete. <br /> F. Martinson added that this is not the decision of the board. <br />
