MOTION BY J. THOMPSON AND SECONDED BY T. SACCOMAN
THAT A RESOLUTION BE PRESENTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL
REQUESTING THE IRRIGATION BE STOPPED
"POLICY" FOR ZONING PERMIT EXTENSIONS
The City does not have a policy for zoning permit extensions. An applicant
has failed to begin or complete construction after the expiration of a one-year
extension on a Zoning Permit. What action will the applicant need to take?
The Commission reviewed policies from other Cities. Some of the items
discussed were if the applicant would need to apply for a new zoning permit
and pay the original cost again or if no extensions will be allowed.
There was a discussion regarding the City's current zoning ordinance and
permits. The ordinance does not go into detailed information regarding what
constitutes the need for a permit.
F. Martinson suggested that at the next regular meeting the Commission
discuss the zoning permit extension policy and create a more detailed section
of the zoning ordinance regarding zoning permit requirements.
T. Sacco m an asked that the De p u ty Ci ty Clerk obtain a co py of the Zonin g
Ordinance from Breezy Point.
SIBLEY/PEQUOT FRONTAGE/BACKAGE ROAD STUDY
Tim Houle of Widseth, Smith & Nolting sent the Commission a drawing and
cost estimates for the proposed frontage/backage roads.
The main topic discussed was the placement of the road to the north. Mr.
Houle had the road going directly through the Swim & Fitness building. J.
Thompson and T. Saccoman were very concerned about this as they did not
want the building torn down and there would be extreme costs to purchase
the land.
