PEQUOT LAKES <br /> PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> AUGUST 21, 2001 <br /> Tommy Woog called the regular meeting of the Pequot Lakes Planning and Zoning Commission to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Pequot Lakes City Hall. <br /> Present were Jerry Thompson, Tommy Woog, Dona Trenkenschuh and Carrie Walsh. Absent was Tony <br /> Maurer. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING: A zoning change was granted to Dean Brandt for Lot 2,Block 3, Coles Plat. The zoning <br /> was changed from Medium Density Residential to Exempt Commercial. Motion made by Jerry Thompson and <br /> seconded by Dona Trenkenschuh. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING: A variance was granted to Polly Cotes to enlarge a non-conforming structure on part of <br /> Government Lot 5, Section 10 with the stipulation that water and sewer are in compliance and will be inspected. <br /> Motion made by Jerry Thompson and seconded by Carrie Walsh. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: Recommended zoning for Jill&Merlin Carlson property(West 239.25 ft. of East 528 ft. of <br /> the South 825 ft. of SW'A of the NW 1/4 except part to Saxvold (parcel 910142300D00009) is Wooded <br /> Residential. This is the recommendation of Planning&Zoning if the City Council agrees to annex this property <br /> into Pequot Lakes. Motion made by Dona Trenkenschuh and seconded by Jerry Thompson. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: Determining a Permit Fee was tabled until next months meeting to find out what other Cities <br /> are charging for this. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: Sign variation was tabled until next month when Barney Young from Cem Stone submits his <br /> site plans to the Planning&Zoning Commission. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: Industrial Park new business owner Bob Murphy from Granite Works submitted his site <br /> plans. Set backs and the size of the structure were discussed and Bob will comply. Industrial Park new business <br /> owner Tom Anderson with Allied Machinery submitted his site plans. The Commission stressed to follow <br /> guidelines and set backs for the Industrial Park. <br /> Section 15.16 Clause B of the Zoning Ordinance deals with Loading and Unloading. Pending an Ordinance <br /> revision, the Board acknowledges that this may be unreasonable for the Industrial Park and allows a variance <br /> from that restriction. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: 5t wheel camper that is permanently located on West Sibley Street should have current tabs <br /> on it. Planning&Zoning Commission feels that this is either a County or Police issue. Information will be <br /> forwarded to both Mark Forsberg and Darrel Olson(County tax assessor). <br /> Pz82101 <br />
