PEOUOT LAKES <br /> PLANNING& ZONING COMMISSION <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> AUGUST 18, 2001 <br /> Tommy Woog called the regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission to order at 6:30 p.m. in the <br /> Council Chambers of Pequot Lakes City Hall. <br /> Present were Jerry Thompson, Tommy Woog, Carrie Walsh and Tony Maurer. Absent was Dona Trenkenshuh. <br /> Also present was John Derksen who is interested in the vacancy on the Board. <br /> CHRIS GREER POSSIBLE ANNEXATION: Chris presented his request for multi residential zoning to the <br /> Board. Strong opposition was voiced by his neighbor Curt Cogan. Tommy advised him to come to the actual <br /> Public Hearing on 10/02/01 in front of the City Council. Tommy stated that the Board is hesitant to make any <br /> changes now as we are in the preliminary stages of working with Sibley Township on amending our Zoning <br /> Ordinances. It was brought up that Chris had his request in prior to the moratorium on annexation. After much <br /> discussion, Carrie Walsh motioned to recommend the zoning as Wooded Residential. Tony seconded the <br /> motion and the motion was carried unanimously. Chris requested that the City Council get copies of the <br /> correspondence he brought in prior to the Council meeting on 10/02/01. <br /> CEMSTONE/BARNEY YOUNG:Barney brought in his site plans for Cemstone in the Industrial Park as a <br /> courtesy to the Planning&Zoning Commission. Discussion regarding a sign was brought up and at that time it <br /> was determined to review our Sign ordinance in a workshop. This was scheduled for 1/2 hour prior to the next <br /> Planning&Zoning Meeting on 10/16/01. <br /> LICENSE&ZONING FEES: It was decided to have a 1/2 hour workshop before the 10/16/01 regular Planning <br /> and Zoning meeting to revise the fee schedules. <br /> HWY. 371 UPDATE: Discussion regarding this will take place at the Joint Meeting on Thursday, September <br /> 20th at Sibley Town Hall. <br /> Tommy Woog informed the City staff that there is money available through Partners 56472 and The Initiative <br /> Foundation for Long Range Planning and revising our Comprehensive Plan. This will be relayed to the City <br /> Clerk. <br /> Carrie Walsh requested that the instructional sheets be put back into the Agenda's.
