Mr. Marohn explained his Staff Report. The existing ordinance does not cover the <br /> Exempt Commercial zone. Concept plans would be required in the new provisions. <br /> A motion by Karl Moon, seconded by John Derksen, to approve the recommended <br /> changes to the Ordinance provisions regulating signs. All members voted"aye". Motion <br /> carried. <br /> There were no additions or deletions to the Agenda. <br /> A motion was made by Karl Moon, seconded by Cheri Seils, to accept the July Minutes <br /> as submitted. All members voted"aye". Motion carried. <br /> STAFF REPORTS: <br /> Mr. Slayton reported that he had issued 6 permits in July and included 3 letters in his <br /> packet. The current status of the Cullen Lake Association on-site septic inspection is <br /> 99% complete. Of the approximate 200 systems inspected, there was a 5%to 7% failure <br /> rate. Currently there are 4 systems failing. <br /> Mr. Marohn reported the City had issued 8 permits in July and included a copy of a letter <br /> pertaining to the Larry Greden fence issue. <br /> OPEN FORUM: (none requested). <br /> OLD BUSINESS: None. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: Discussion Point: <br /> 1. Golf Driving Ranges in Commercial zone. <br /> Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peterson <br /> 28794 Hurtig Road <br /> Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 <br /> 218-568-4055 <br /> Mr. and Mrs. Peterson questioned whether or not they could operate a driving range on <br /> property they own which is zoned Commercial. There is nothing included in District 60 <br /> C-1 regulations. District 35.030, Agricultural zone discusses golf courses as a <br /> conditional use. Section 10.070 explains uses not provided for within Zoning Districts. <br /> Mark Hallan requested staff to do a study on this subject and return to the Commission <br /> with the results. <br /> Cathy Malecha thanked Mr. Slayton for all of the hours and guidance he spent with the <br /> rural taxing district. <br /> Mr. Slayton stated that he enjoyed serving Sibley Township and wished them luck in the <br /> future. <br />
