REGULAR PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL METTING, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2001 <br /> The regular meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council was called to order at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, <br /> 2001 in Pequot Lakes City Hall by Mayor Forbes H. Martinson. <br /> The Mayor led the pledge of allegiance following a moment of silence for the victims of the World Trade Center <br /> incident on September 11`h <br /> Roll Call: F. Martinson, J. Johnson, J. Noren, J. Thompson, G. Welu, Absent: none. <br /> LOT 3, BLOCK 1, PEQUOT INDUSTRIAL PARK <br /> Debra Woolhouse made an offer of$27,500 to purchase Lot 3, Block 1 of the Industrial park. She plans to have <br /> a telephone solicitation business employing up to 8 people (who will earn a "livable"wage). Her building will be <br /> a large one, with offices in the front and a large shop area in the back. The back portion will be occupied by <br /> Alan Berens for a sheet metal fabrication business. Ms. Woolhouse would like to start the building before <br /> winter. <br /> MOTION BY G. WELU AND SECONDED BY J. NOREN THAT WOOLHOUSE'S OFFER OF <br /> $27,500 FOR LOT 3, BLOCK 1 OF THE INDUSTRIAL PARK BE ACCEPTED, SUBJECT TO <br /> ADEQUATE FINANCING. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> 1. ORDINANCE #191, TULENCHIK PROPERTY <br /> MOTION BY J. THOMPSON AND SECONDED BY J. NOREN THAT ORDINANCE #191 BE <br /> ADOPTED ANNEXING 50 ACRES OWNED BY N W T CORPORATION; THE HIGHWAY <br /> #371 FRONTAGE IS TO BE ZONED COMMERCIAL, WHILE THE REMAINING PORTION IS <br /> ZONED WOODED RESIDENTIAL. THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION WILL <br /> REVIEW ALL BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS IN THE COMMERCIAL PORTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> 2. ORDINANCE #192, CARLSON PROPERTY <br /> MOTION BY J. NOREN AND SECONDED BY J. JOHNSON THAT ORDINANCE #192 BE <br /> ADOPTED ANNEXING THE MERLIN & JILL CARSON PROPERTY INTO THE CITY. <br /> PROPERTY WILL BE ZONED WOODED RESIDENTIAL, MOTION CARRIED <br /> UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> 3. ORDINANCE #193, GREER PROPERTY <br /> Curt Cogan, neighbor of the Greers, was present to voice his opposition, requesting that the City either table the <br /> issue until a joint planning ordinance is in place or match the zoning regulations of Sibley Township requiring <br /> five acre homesites. <br /> MOTION BY J. NOREN AND SECONDED BY J. THOMPSON THAT ORDINANCE #193 BE <br /> ADOPTED ANNEXING THE CHRIS & BRENDA GREER PROPERTY INTO THE CITY. A <br /> SMALL PORTION OF THE PROPERTY WILL BE MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL, WITH <br /> THE REMAINING PORTION WOODED RESIDENTIAL. ROLL CALL VOTE: J. JOHNSON- <br /> YES, J. NOREN-YES, J. THOMPSON-YES, G. WELU-ABSTAIN. MOTION CARRIED. <br /> KACHEROSKI <br /> Rob Kacheroski and Shirley Kacheroski requested that the City consider extending municipal sewer service to <br /> their property on Pequot Blvd. They presented a letter from Jim and Carol Fischer which requested the same. <br /> Mr. Kacheroski was given a petition form from the Mayor, and asked that he approach his neighbors for <br /> signatures. He was also informed that the cost of the sewer extension would be borne be the property owners. <br /> 1 <br />
