Public hearing on Draft Comprehensive Plan. <br /> There was no public comment. Comments from Planning Commission: <br /> Page 40 of Plan—Add as policy: City will support and streamline permitting process and <br /> provide assistance to developers to understand and comply with City Ordinance. <br /> Page 80—adjust run on sentence. <br /> Page 80—Chuck has Tom's page. <br /> Page 70 (pg. 17)—Change "remove"to "move". <br /> A motion was made by Dean Williams, seconded by Tom Adams,to recommend <br /> approval with changes. All members voted"aye". Motion carried. <br /> ADDITIONS OR DELETIONS TO AGENDA: <br /> 6. c. Crow Wing County Land Sale <br /> 6. d. Dotty Brothers <br /> 6. e. Wilderness Resort <br /> 6. f. Chris Greer <br /> 6. g. Survey standards for small lots <br /> OPEN FORUM: None. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> a. Fyle Permit Extension: Staff explained the permits from the County and Sibley <br /> Township and the Fyle's request for an extension. <br /> A motion was made by Karl Moon, seconded by John Derksen, to approve the permit <br /> extension for one year with no additional fee. All members voted"aye". Motion carried. <br /> b. Whitty Shoreline Alteration: Mr. and Mrs. Whitty were present. Mr. Marohn <br /> explained the violation. Mr. Whitty had a handout from the DNR, as well as pictures of <br /> the house from the MLS when they bought it and a survey. Mr. Marohn explained that <br /> the DNR regulates activity in the water and anything above the OHW our ordinance has <br /> oversight. The sand blanket is in the shore impact zone. The sand could be removed <br /> without degrading the water. A silt fence would be recommended if the sand is removed. <br /> Mrs. Whitty stated that the DNR said the sand blanket can be put in the water. The <br /> violation was doing the work without a permit. Ten yards of sand were brought in. <br /> Planning Commission, July 15, 2004, Page 4 <br />
