Sheila <br /> Haverkamp noted that there is a huge need for fiber optics from local <br /> businesses and home-based businesses. The EDC suggested beginning <br /> discussions with TDS sometime in the spring. <br /> • The Concept of"Silicon Lakes" for our area targeting growth in the <br /> technology and home based business sector <br /> 6. BLAEDC/Chamber Update <br /> Sheila Haverkamp updated the EDC on the new Twitter Account at BLAEDC. <br /> She also extended an invitation to the EDC to attend the February 14th first <br /> Business Execs Chat at SuperValu in Pequot Lakes at 8:00 a.m. <br /> Chair Jurchen updated the EDC members on Chamber events. <br /> 7. February Meeting Agenda Items <br /> The EDC will review the water and sewer ordinances at the February meeting. <br /> 8. Other Business <br /> Discussion was held regarding the tax presentation that Sheila Haverkamp gave at <br /> the last EDC meeting. The EDC suggested giving this presentation to business <br /> owners and to the public to help everyone to better understand how property taxes <br /> are determined. It was decided to begin marketing in the hopes of communicating <br /> ...'' and educating the business owners and public prior to a presentation sometime in <br /> April or May. <br />
