Today, <br /> BLAEDC has three staff members with an annual budget of approximately$360,000.Our traditional work and new initiatives are <br /> building momentum.Our EXEC Program continues to grow and develop with Rent-A-Board and EXEC Connect.In addition,the <br /> Tech Services initiative continues to progress and evolve. These programs have brought a heightened awareness around <br /> economic development and BLAEDC,and bring industry experts with tremendous experience,new ideas,and connections working <br /> with us to grow our area economy. Other BLAEDC programs and services include: <br /> • Position the Area for Growth by Creating a Positive Business Environment and a Can-Do Attitude <br /> • Business Retention and Expansion Programs <br /> • Entrepreneurial and Business Start Up Initiatives <br /> • Targeted Marketing Efforts to Attract Business <br /> • Support Community Development Initiatives <br /> • Assist and Coordinate Economic Development Business Projects: <br /> o Assistance with Site Location <br /> o Financial Structure and Package Programs <br /> o Technical and Business Planning Assistance <br /> o Assistance with Government Resources and Processes <br /> The organizations efforts have included coordinating and facilitating more than 390 projects that have resulted in approximately <br /> $336 million dollars in capital investments and more than 4,700 jobs. As you know,BLAEDC's success is due to governmental units <br /> working in partnership with private business toward a brighter economic future for our area. <br /> Recognizing that you are at the stage of considering your 2015 budget,we respectfully request that you continue your support to <br /> BLAEDC with an increase in funding over 2014.
