ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> DECEMBER 18, 2012 <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Mark Jurchen, Cindy Roggenkamp, Barb Merritt, Cindy <br /> Rieck, and Tommy Woog <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Sheila Haverkamp, BLAEDC; Bud Pierce and Dave <br /> Johnson from the Executive Committee; and Scott <br /> Pederson, Council Member <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Jurchen at 8:01 a.m. <br /> 2. Approval of Minutes <br /> MOTION BY CINDY ROGENCAMP TO APPROVE THE 11/20/2012 EDC <br /> MINUTES. TOMMY WOOG SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 3. Executive Committee Presentation <br /> Bud Pierce and Dave Johnson were present from the Executive Committee. Sheila <br /> Haverkamp explained that the Executive Committee has been formed for the <br /> purpose of tapping into the wealth of knowledge from former executives and that <br /> the program is making contributions to the community. <br /> Dave Johnson introduced himself and stated that he has worked for 45 years at <br /> Anderson Brothers. Bud Pierce introduced himself and noted that his career has <br /> been in manufacturing. They both talked about their former careers and how their <br /> knowledge in those areas would be helpful to business owners today. <br /> Sheila suggested that the EDC invite the Execs to respond to the EDC proposals <br /> for small business subsidies. <br /> 4. Property Tax Discussion—Sheila Haverkamp <br /> Sheila Haverkamp gave a presentation on the Minnesota Property Tax System and <br /> how it works. <br /> 5. Chamber Update <br /> Mark Jurchen provided an update. <br /> 6. January Meeting Agenda Items <br />
