ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> OCTOBER 16, 2012 <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Mark Jurchen, Cindy Rieck, Cindy Roggenkamp, Barb <br /> Merritt, and Tommy Woog <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT: None <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Sheila Haverkamp, BLAEDC; Dawn Bittner, Zoning <br /> Administrator; Sandy Peine, City Clerk <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Jurchen at 8:00 a.m. at Northern <br /> Tool. <br /> 2. Introduction of New Members <br /> Mark Jurchen introduced Cindy Roggenkamp and Barb Merritt as new members <br /> to the EDC. <br /> 3. Approval of Minutes <br /> TOMMY WOOG MOVED TO APPROVE THE SEPTEMBER 18,2012, <br /> EDC MINUTES. CINDY RIECK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 4. WAC/SAC Ordinance Update <br /> Tommy Woog updated the new members on the purpose of the proposed <br /> ordinances on WAC and SAC fees. <br /> Sheila Haverkamp presented information on surrounding cities' WAC and SAC <br /> fees in comparison to what the EDC is proposing for Pequot Lakes. She noted that <br /> Pequot Lakes is quite a bit higher than Brainerd and Baxter, but the scenarios do <br /> not compare apples to apples when just looking at the WAC and SAC fees. The <br /> EDC discussed the proposed fees and felt that it was necessary to keep the fees on <br /> the higher side in order to justify being able to replace or repair the water and <br /> sewer systems. <br /> CINDY RIECK MOVED TO PRESENT THE PROPOSED WAC AND SAC <br /> ORDINANCE TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR ADOPTION. TOMMY <br /> WOOG SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Discussion was held regarding the language in the proposed ordinance regarding <br /> the requirement to connect to the City water supply. The EDC discussed whether <br /> this language should be in the land use section of the ordinance rather than in <br /> Chapter 15. Dawn Bittner noted that if someone looks at Chapter 15, it would not <br />
