City Council Minutes <br />October 5, 2010 <br />Page 8 of 12 <br />-------------------------- <br />� <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE <br />OF THE AIR PACKS TO BE FUNDED FROM CAPITAL OUTLAY <br />CARRYOVER FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF 19,388.85. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER MALECHA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5- <br />0. <br />8. Police Chief Monthly Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />8.1. Police Department Discussion <br />Mayor Adams stated that in light of the current police situation, she would <br />like to form a committee to look at all options for the future of the Pequot <br />Lakes Police Department. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO FORM A COMMITTEE OF TWO POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL, TWO COMMUNITY PEOPLE AND TWO <br />COUNCIL MEMBERS TO LOOK AT ALL OPTIONS FOR THE CITY'S <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. <br />� <br />Council Member Ryan stated that the Council is the proper place for the <br />discussion and that he would be hesitant to delegate this task down to a <br />committee level. He suggested a working session of the City Council. <br />Council Member Malecha agreed that receiving input from community at <br />large would be good for the City. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO AMEND THE MOTION TO HAVE A <br />WORKING SESSION OF THE COUNCIL DEDICATED TO THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT AND OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY, FOLLOWED BY A <br />FORMATION OF THE COMMITTEE TO LOOK INTO THE IDEAS THE <br />COUNCIL SUGGESTS. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />MOTION CARRIED AS AMENDED 5-0. <br />9. Public Works <br />Report accepted by Council. <br />9.1. Reauest to Proceed with Marshall Street Project <br />� <br />
