BLADC 2009 <br /> �-- Creative Marketing Strategies for Challenging Economic Times —DRAFT <br /> In order to better adapt to the current business climate BLADC has been collecting ideas <br /> from other ED organizations and local and state leaders. <br /> Enhanced Marketing: <br /> • "Featured Sites"program <br /> • Signage <br /> • Increased NP/TV/radio advertising <br /> • Expansion/growth of current efforts (Make more airport videos,join more web <br /> based networking organizations, et cetera) - A few communities seem to invest <br /> heavily in web based networking organizations, particularly New Ulm <br /> • Other ideas welcome <br /> Reduced Costs: <br /> • Reduced SAC/WAC charges <br /> • Set term "Firesale" - Temporary price reduction to encourage counter-cyclical <br /> development, Worthington uses this <br /> • Redevelopment/infill incentives <br /> • Other ideas welcome <br /> Prospect Referral Incentives: <br /> • Realtor"Finder's Fee" for city owned Industrial Parks —Red Wing and Winona <br /> use specific 3 and 5% finder's fees, Alexandria and New Ulm use unspecified <br /> "commissions" <br /> • Community Leader/Resident"Finder's Fee"—Example: $10,000 reward for a <br /> lead that results in 5 jobs created or more. <br /> • Other ideas welcome <br /> June 2009 BLADC Board Discussion—The BLADC Board expressed support of the <br /> BLADC and the area's current economic development marketing efforts. In addition, it <br /> was suggested that we further explore Realtor Finder Fees and networking opportunities. <br />
