ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> JANUARY 20, 2009 <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Ed Larsen, Mark Jurchen, Justin Bolz-Andolshek, Cindy <br /> Reich, and Patrick Smith <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Mayor Nancy Adams, City Clerk Sandy Peine, Elissa <br /> Rogers, BLADC; Dawn Bittner, Planning and Zoning <br /> Administrator, and Ruth Ann Hanson, Chamber of <br /> Commerce <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Ed Larsen at 8:00 a.m. <br /> Chair Larsen introduced new member Cindy Reich to the EDC. He noted that she <br /> was appointed by the Council to replace Nancy Adams' position. Her term is for <br /> two years expiring on 12/31/2010. <br /> 2. Consider EDC Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER JURCHEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE DECEMBER <br /> 16, 2008, MINUTES. COMMISSIONER SMITH SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 3. Membership <br /> Chair Larsen informed members that he would like to determine terms for each of <br /> the members. He asked the members to draw a card which would have either a 1 <br /> or a 2 on the card. A card with a 1 would mean that the term would run through <br /> December 31, 2009 and a 2 would mean that the term would run through <br /> December 31, 2010. The following terms were drawn. <br /> Mark Jurchen—(1) Term to end December 31, 2009 <br /> Ed Larsen —(1) Term to end December 31, 2009 <br /> Patrick Smith—(2) Term to end December 31, 2010 <br /> Justin Bolz-Andolshek— (2) Term to end December 31, 2010 <br /> Chair.Larsen informed the members that the Council appointed Justin Bolz- <br /> Andolshek to the NCEDA. Justin noted that the actual appointment will be made <br /> in September by NCEDA. <br />
