MINUTES OF THE <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> NOVEMBER 17,2009 <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Ed Larsen, Mark Jurchen, Patrick Smith,Justin Bolz- <br /> Andolshek, and Cindy Rieck. <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Sheila Haverkamp, BLADC; Mayor Adams; Dawn Bittner, <br /> Zoning Administrator; Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Erika <br /> O'Brien, HRA Director; and Ruth Ann Hanson, Chamber <br /> Kimberly Ziesmer Seriously Fun Marketing <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Chair Larsen called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. <br /> 2. Consider Minutes <br /> PAT SMITH MOVED TO APPROVE THE OCTOBER 20,2009,EDC <br /> MINUTES. CINDY RIECK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 3. Presentation by Developer <br /> Seriously Fun Marketing Group <br /> Kimberly Ziesmer; Seriously Fun Marketing, addressed the EDC regarding her <br /> business in Pequot Lakes. She stated that her business entails marketing and <br /> design such as business cards, brochures, web sites at an affordable price. <br /> Kimberly stated that she believes in the community and wanted to locate her <br /> business in Pequot Lakes. <br /> Update on Business Connect <br /> Kimberly Ziesmer explained the purpose of the Business Connect Group. She <br /> indicated that she chairs the group and that the group has grown from 3 to 30 <br /> people consisting of business owners, some of which are Chamber members. The <br /> goal of the group is to strengthen the group and community,to focus on local <br /> events, and to do what is necessary to fill store fronts in town. Kimberly stated <br /> that there are concerns of many of the participants in the group regarding what <br /> direction the City is heading. She indicated that some of the concerns relate to the <br /> decision to locate the highway around town. Other concerns relate to the feeling <br /> that the Council is not planning in a way to make this a friendly environment for <br /> businesses. She indicated that she is aware that the City is still waiting for <br />
