The fit test next Wednesday, December 8' is mandatory for each of us, so make plans to
be there. Sign up for a time between 4:30 and 7:30 pm.
We need one or two fire fighters to help with a fire hall tour by a group of cub scouts next
Monday.
Byron Township, which is next to Poplar Township in Cass County, has asked to contract
with our department starting next May. Tom wants to check mileage to other departments
which could contract with them. They should choose a department that is the closest that
can provide the service they want. They also need to be aware that we bill for fire calls
which helps keep our contract cost lower.
There is a Cuyuna Range meeting at Crosslake on Thursday night. Tom, Brian, and
Tasha will be attending.
The fire bill for Gerald Seaman's outdoor wood stove and wood pile was discussed. We
did save a truck which was parked near the exposure. We plan to bill a reduced rate of
$350.00 per hour for this call.
Pat would like to contract with Mick Justin's accounting firm to audit our relief
association. He has negotiated a$4600.00 fee, which would be good for three years.
Hayes motioned to approve the deal, second by Wendt, motion passed.
Dan's mother is getting rid of a couch and 2 chairs and wants to know if anyone is
" interested. They will bring them to the hall. Check on them is you have an interest.
The Chief wants to know if we want a Christmas party. He thinks we should have a
simple dinner with a reasonable price somewhere in our fire district. He thought Billy's
may be a good choice. We will get prices and options of a menu.
Joe Brenny is sponsoring a dinner and meeting with an awareness of a death theme to
help emergency responders deal with such a possibility. The meeting will be Monday,
December 6'. If you are interested, check for more details.
Mike Peterson motioned to adjourn our meeting, second by Oaks, meeting adjourned.
Tasha took over with the annual election of Officers. Tom Nelson was elected Fire Chief.
Bill Rickard was elected First Assistant Chief. Dave Szymanski was elected Second
Assistant Chief. Elected Captains were Neil Casanova, Brian Evenson, and Mike
Schwankl. Tasha Carlson was elected Safety Officer. Bob Peterson I was elected
Secretary.
PRESENT AT MEETING: Ackerman, Arnold, Bridge, Tasha Carlson, Casanova, Cerise,
Crist, Evenson, Hayes, Jacobson, Larson, Loven, Nelson, Nordby, Oaks, Kate Petersen,
Peterson I, Peterson II, Mike Peterson, Rickard, Schwankl, Selter, Szymanski, Wendt,
Wilson, Zeimet, and Council member Tom Ryan
