The EDC also stated that they feel the City is <br /> not mature and there is a need to continue to pursue economic development. The EDC <br /> would like to see the Economic Development portion of the Comp Plan stated in more <br /> positive terms. <br /> 4. Update on Housing Institute <br /> Erika O'Brien gave an update on the MN Housing Partnership and Greater Minnesota <br /> statewide pilot program. She indicated that they are focusing on getting all agencies to <br /> identify challenges and resources relating to housing issues in the area. <br /> 5. Business Survey Results <br /> Mark Jurchen gave an update on the business survey. <br /> 6. Economic Development Financing Overview and Pequot Lakes Business Subsidy <br /> Plan <br /> Sheila Haverkamp introduced John Gunstad, who has just joined BLADC. Sheila gave an <br /> overview of economic development financing. She noted that educating the EDC on <br /> financing will help the EDC in updating the City's Business Subsidy Plan. <br /> 7. Next Meeting Date <br /> May 18—Comp Plan review <br /> 8. Other Business <br /> Justin Bolz-Andolshek informed the EDC that there was an article in the Echo regarding <br /> Highway 371 in relation to the upcoming municipal consent process. He noted that this is <br /> becoming a big issue again. <br /> 2 <br />
